Step Back Without Falling Behind

A Soft Landing When You Need One

Everyone needs a break sometimes - both participants and their carers.

Whether it’s for a few nights, a week, or just enough time to reset - you will get space to rest, the chance to try something new, or support when your usual arrangements aren’t available.

Our respite homes are relaxed, welcoming, and designed for real life - not a perfect program. We want you to feel safe, supported, and free to be yourself.

Help With the Day-To-Day (and the Not-So-Easy Days)

Short-Term Accommodation (also called Respite) is a temporary stay away from your usual home. It’s NDIS-funded and gives you time to rest, recover, or just do something different.

It provides you with opportunities to:

  • Experience a change of scenery

  • Meet new people

  • Participate in different activities

  • Develop new skills

Some people use STA to take a break. Others use it as a step toward longer-term housing. Either way, we’ll make it work for you.

We provide:

Support staff around when needed

Help with meals, personal care, and daily tasks

Fun, flexible activities suited to your energy and interests

Comfortable, calm homes in friendly neighbourhoods

A safe space to recharge - without pressure

You Might Need STA If…

You don’t need a big reason. You just need to feel like it’s time for a pause. This service is for people who:

  • Need time out from their regular living situation
  • Want a break from group homes or family settings
  • Need temporary care while their usual support is away
  • Want to build independence in a low-pressure setting

  • Are thinking about moving out and want to try it first

  • Have mental health or complex needs and need steady, non-judgemental support

We Don’t Run Respite Like a Facility

Our homes are pet-friendly, low-pressure, and always people-first.

Lots of places offer respite. Not many do it like this.

  • We don’t run it like a schedule - we build each stay around you and what you need

  • Staff are trained to support complex mental health and high behaviours in a kind and helpful way

  • You won’t be made to join in or do anything that doesn’t feel right for you

  • You’ll get consistency - the same faces and calm routines

  • We’ll talk to you before and during your stay to plan what works best

You Don’t Have to Join In - Unless You Want To

We don’t expect you to do or be anything. You can relax. Or cook. Or go out. Or do nothing at all.

We shape your stay around what works best for you. We’ll ask:

  • What helps you feel safe in a new space?

  • What kind of people do you feel comfortable around?

  • Do you want time alone, or connection?

  • What’s your ideal way to spend a day?

Need Time Away? We’ve Got Room.

You don’t have to explain everything. You don’t need to have a “good reason.” If you feel like you need a break, that’s enough.

Whether you’ve had a rough time, need a soft landing, or just want to take a breath - our STA homes are available.
